Love is Chemicals
This San Francisco quartet has a far more romantic tone than their moniker may suggest. Comprised of husband and wife Nate and Courtney Grover on guitar and bass respectively, with fellow guitarist Nick Mirov and drummer Steven Galbraith, Love Is Chemicals contains all manners of splendor on their 2008 album, Songs Of The Summer Youth Brigade. The group makes harmonic and pensive indie pop that ranges from upbeat guitar driven ditties to more mellow atmospheric daydreams, highlighted by the Grover's bliss inducing dual vocals. Their songs flow easily, tightly wound around catchy hooks and memorable riffs, turning on more than a few surprised smiles. CHARLIE SWANSON
