Mark Eitzel has been a Bay Area institution for over twenty five years now, a spirited and eclectic singer and songwriter constantly achieving an intimacy and honesty rare in these times. Eitzel is most widely known as the founder of American Music Club, a band that amassed cult status in the 80’s and early 90’s and recently reformed after a decade long hiatus. Their somber and fractured Americana folk and confessional rock music has always been driven by Eitzel’s inner demons and outward affections, and his solo work is no different. Lately, the songsmith has taken on a more reflective and sunnier mood, though no less heartfelt. His music, whether solo or collaborative, is ever growing, maturing right along with Eitzel's influential status. CHARLIE SWANSON
