For his contributions over the last 30 years, vocalist/guitarist Bob Mould is known as one of the most influential figures in alternative rock music. During the 1980s, Mould was the front man for punk and hardcore pioneer Husker Du. In the 1990s, he formed Sugar, an indie rock trio that produced dark, catchy post-punk during the grunge era. In addition, he has had a prolific solo career, putting out 8 albums since 1989 with a new album scheduled for release in April '09 .  His solo work showcases a large repertoire of sounds, from the atmospheric and introspective acoustics of 1989’s Workbook to the electronic and dance-friendly tracks of 2002’s Modulate.

Over the last year, he has toured heavily in support of 2007’s District Line, while working on his latest release.  Mould’s upcoming album contains tracks that are being touted as highly personal, dealing with intimate experiences and exploring relationships from his life. New and old fans alike are in for a treat when they see Mould live – he is known to have phenomenal chemistry with his band, blending his older works with his newer material, and giving a high-energy yet personal performance.

As if all his musical endeavors were not enough, Mould is now capturing and retelling his life story in an upcoming autobiography, which promises to be interesting, entertaining, poignant, and perhaps at times, strange. Assisted by Michael Azerrad, author of the highly lauded rock chronicle “Our Band Could Be Your Life,” the autobiography will undoubtedly cover the bizarre moments of Mould’s life, including his experiences as a writer for the World Championship of Wrestling. Additionally,  Mould is an active member of D.C.'s gay community, having successfully run the monthly dance event Blowoff with DJ/producer Richard Morel, where he currently flaunts his skills as a house DJ. Considering his ever growing list of accomplishments It seems fair to pose the question: What can’t Bob Mould do? VERONICA YOUNG
