Emily Ritz started Honeycomb after moving from New York to San Francisco to attend the California College of Arts. The band’s name derives from her bee fixation; appropriately, its sound is nectarous, even soothing. Ritz’s voice, part CocoRosie and part Billie Holiday, contributes to this quality, as does the convergence of ukulele, cello, vibraphone, soft percussion and three other women vocalists. The Honeycomb debut EP will have its release at this year's Noise Pop show.
