The Portland band Nurses includes Aaron Chapman, John Bowers and James Mitchell. Together, they craft songs by layering found and random sounds with loops, samples and instrumentals. Nurses recorded and released their debut, Hangin’ Nothin’ But Our Hands Down, independently in 2006, following their move from Idaho to Southern California. Sargent House Records re-released it in 2007, before Nurses signed to Dead Oceans for their second album, Apple’s Acre, released in August 2009.
