THE GHOST OF A SABER TOOTHED TIGER (SEAN LENNON, CHARLOTTE KEMP MUHL W/ SPECIAL GUESTS CORNELIUS)
When he's not making melodic indie pop under his own name or playing in his mom's art rock band Yoko Ono Plastic Ono, there's a decent chance Sean Lennon is working on the Ghost of a Saber Toothed Tiger. After all, it is the project he shares with his girlfriend, the spirited Charlotte Kemp Muhl. Donning the pseudonyms of Amatla and Zargifon , the two creative souls debuted their twinkling folk tracks on Valentine's Day of 2008, and the honeymoon is still going strong. Pairing Lennon's ambient and sonorous guitars and Muhl's graceful harmony, the couple are often joined on stage by friends and collaborators. For this performance, the two will welcome the members of Cornelius to join in the festivities.
Both Lennon and Muhl can claim some incredible and unique upbringings. While Lennon's own highly publicized personal life focus has softened enough to allow the brooding artist to mature into a jubilant troubadour, Muhl's former life as a Southern Lieutenant's daughter turned supermodel lends itself to equally stranger than fiction peculiarity. Still, as highly personal side projects go, the GOASTT is an accessible and dreamy gateway into the inner heartstrings of it's one of a kind visionaries.
