Sugar & Gold have nostalgia down pat. The five-member San Francisco band doesn’t so much incorporate elements of disco, soul, and synth pop into its songs as it pays homage to these genres by transporting you back 30-plus years. As vintage as Sugar & Gold’s sound may be at times, the throngs of electrified people grooving to their songs on the dance floor would agree that it never sounds dated.
