The countdown has begun. Not for New Year's Eve, the countdown to Noise Pop 2007! Starting February 27th next year, the Noise Pop Festival returns to its normal place on the calendar to celebrate its 15th anniversary. As you can see, our website has been magically transformed - well, through the otherworldly skills of poster artist Jesse LeDoux and NP web producer Bill Rousseau - to showcase all the latest Noise Pop Festival news and information. Here, you can find all the up to date show and event schedules, check out the growing list of confirmed festival artists and soon be able to buy show tickets and festival badges.
Because it's our 15th anniversary, Noise Pop 2007 is going to honor what's made us the best-loved celebration of indie music and culture since its humble birth at The Kennel Club way back in 1993. But it wouldn't be Noise Pop if we didn't mess with the formula a little bit too. Luckily for us this policy has yielded great results over the years like the Noise Pop Education Series, our own Film Festival (celebrating its own 8th birthday in 2007!), the Noise Pop'n'Shop and more. This time around, we're pulling back the curtain on the Noise Pop Expo - we'll take over the Swedish American Hall for two days and present a program that brings our panel discussions, local indie trunk sale, rock poster show, special acoustic performances and more all under one roof - which also happens to be upstairs from Noise Pop venue, Café Du Nord. Noise Pop 15 will see new territory conquered as gallery art shows and literary events join our festival schedule as well as daytime in-stores, special badge-holder events and some rollicking after-parties. If you have any vacation days, plan to take them off during Noise Pop because our aim is to keep you as occupied as possible. There's more that we can't tell you quite yet but we're sure that Noise Pop 15 is shaping up to be the best yet.
Our list of performers continues to grow. Currently, Jolie Holland, Ted Leo And The Pharmacists, Josh Ritter, Autolux, Richard Swift, Earlimart, Ghostland Observatory, Midlake, Hella, Vic Chestnutt, John Vanderslice, and Clinic are all confirmed to play Noise Pop 2007 with many more bands announced here in the coming weeks.
