It's officially mid-Noise Pop Week. Last night, Spoon's Britt
Daniel rocked the house at The Swedish American Hall, Tommy Guerrero's
show at Café Du Nord featured free ice cream sundaes, recent
SF Bay Guardian cover stars The Cuts ruled at Thee Parkside and The
Dirtbombs and Black Lips christened this year's Noise Pop at the excellent
Independent. The Heavenly States also headlined the very first ever
Noise Pop show at The Rickshaw Stop, the great new venue on Fell Street
where tonight KZSU and Noise Pop present Why?, Asobi Seksu and more.
This weekend will also feature the return of the Noise Pop Education
Series featuring NYC's Indie Night
School, the debut of the Noise
Pop And Shop at Club Six on Saturday - an awesome mash-up of KUSF's
Rock 'n' Swap Record Swap, The Noise Pop Poster Show and Feria Urbana,
the premiere local event that features amazing local clothing and
jewelry designers - all for $3 or a Noise Pop Badge, and the Noise
Pop Film Festival which picks up tonight with The M-80 Project
- a rare new wave/no wave concert film from 1979.
Last night, San Francisco was served a full program of Noise Pop that
included a screening of "Fearless Freaks" - the documentary
about The Flaming Lips - which was followed by a Q & A with film
maker Bradley Beesely and Wayne Coyne, plus awesome live shows like
Every Move A Picture and Scissors For Lefty at The Bottom Of The Hill,
deadboy and the elephantmen at Café Du Nord; Isis at The Great
American Music Hall and an electrifying performance from Feist at
Bimbo's. Another first for Noise Pop this year was the first of two
Noise Pop Comedy Nights at Thee Parkside featuring the hilarious local
troupe, Killing My Lobster. The second show is tomorrow night again
at Thee Parkside.

interview all about Noise Pop past and present as well as the San
Francisco music scene in general. As you may have noticed, MP3.com
has a lot of great coverage of Noise Pop artists and we've featured
