If you've been to any of Full Moon Partisans' recent shows, you are no doubt aware that the band is looking for a new name. Maybe its current one makes the group seem a bit unstable. The fact that the members started out playing impromptu shows (not always sanctioned) on "city streets, bus stops, parks, subways, garages, rooftops, bookstores, and even classrooms" wouldn't have altered that perception. The indelible image of singer Sergey Yashenko taking the stage at Bottom of the Hill recently in a dress and a coonskin cap probably sealed the deal. But partisans of the high-energy gypsy-folk-punk act wouldn't have the act any other way. JEFF PALFINI
