Jandek On Corwood
"The longest-running, weirdest, loneliest enigma
in popular music is a guy from Texas who calls himself
Jandek." So begins a 1997 Boston Phoenix article
by Douglas Wolk. From the bluesy, atonal music and
haunting lyrics, to the artist's steadfast seclusion
and sheer longevity, everything about this man intrigues.
Twenty-five years, 34 albums, and not a single live
show or public appearance. Even the simple detail
of the man's real name is a mystery. Jandek on Corwood
is the 88-minute documentary that explores this man,
his world and his music.

Mix Tape
Dave and Dean may approach dating differently, but
they both agree on the power of a really good mix
tape. For Dave, choosing the first song to go on a
tape for a new crush is as difficult as choosing the
right time for the first kiss. Dean can be just as
romantic, but a bit more psychotic way, giving his
ex a post-breakup tape everyday, even if it means
he has to break into her house to deliver it. Featuring
songs from the Mountain Goats, Sebadoh and others,
Mix Tape is a bittersweet comedy about love, music
and all things analog. (Filmmaker invited)

Glenn Tilbrook: One For The
Road
The documentary is a journey in the passenger seat
of the ultimate solo tour. For former Squeeze frontman
Glenn Tilbrook, touring meant 18 wheelers, hotel suites
and police-escorted limos. Almost 20 years later,
like many other established artists, Tilbrook’s
music now finds its audience through an independent
route. In November 2001, to support the release
of his debut solo CD, The Incomplete Glenn Tilbrook,
Glenn embarked on a different kind of independent
route as he took to the road in America: One man,
two guitars and a mobile home. Glenn Tilbrook: One
for the Road follows him on every step of that journey:
arriving in the States; picking up his mobile home;
performing the shows; meeting the fans; packing away
his guitars; camping at campgrounds; traveling in
the RV: All access, all of the time. (filmmaker invited.

King Of Bluegrass: The Life
And Times Of Jimmy Martin
75-year-old Jimmy Martin has had one goal in life
– to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
For fifty years, armed with an aggressive sense of
rhythm and a voice like no other, he has chased down
this dream, becoming one of the most outspoken, flamboyant
and, according to some, influential bluegrass performers
of our time. Director George Goehl follows Martin
onstage and off, capturing some amazing performances
as well as the occasional raccoon hunting trip or
squirrel barbecue. Martin’s outrageous behavior
may have worried the Opry, but, to the rest of us,
he is truly the King of Bluegrass.
